Who will you spend this 14/02/2014 with?
A question: If your girlfriend/boyfriend and your mother were drowning, who would you save first? You may think to yourself, it’s never going to happen. Think again, because this year’s Lantern Festival is colliding with Valentine’s Day!
One is the most valued tradition in China, especially among our elder generations. The other is the most important date for couples in Western tradition. One needs to be spent with everyone in the family as a perfect closure for Spring Festival. The other is meant to be spent alone with the one you love, perhaps even as the start of a perfect relationship.
So, Chinese tradition or Western fashion? Family or partner? Kinship or Love? As a culture centre in Kunming, TCG Nordica faced this problem with a democratic way— a vote. Prepare a lovely Valentine’s Day event or get together with families at home? In the end “Family” got all the votes, which means there won’t be any arrangements for the coming 14/02 at TCG Nordica. We hereby would like to encourage all the young people in China to value more of our own Chinese culture and spend more time with their families.
After all, Lantern Festival is also known as the “Chinese valentine’s day” in history~~ We wish you all have a great time with your family and a sweet time with your partners on 14th Feb 2014!
