“More than a thousand lines” by Ying-sin Tsui
This is an art exhibition with drawings which I have made during my stay in Kunming since the end of August 2010.
A lot has happened during this time and I have experienced and come in touch with so many new things and been to many new places. What I have seen, heard, smelled, felt and tasted during these months in China have inspired my to many of my drawings.
So now I would like to share these drawings with others and let you see what I have created. They will be shown in a small but special exhibiton in Kunming’s culture center, TCG Nordica. So Welcome!

Sinne Eeg is one of the trongest new female vocalists from the Scandinavian jazz scene. With 5 albums Sinne Eeg has established herself as a Danish jazz singer with international potential.
Sinne’s distinctive vocals have earned her a loyal and ever growing fan base around the world as well as in her native country. As a singer she is influenced by Nancy Wilson, Betty Carter and Sarah Vaughan, but with her personal touch of soft darkness, Sinne keeps the Scandinavian melancholy settled in her music.
Since the release of the album “Waiting For Dawn” (2007) Sinne has won several music awards in Denmark ,among them Danish Music Award (Best jazz vocal Album 2007, 2010) and the Danish Radio Jazz Award 2009.
Sinne Eeg has been performing in China since 2004, when she first brought her band to Shanghai to play at the House of Blues and Jazz. Since then, she has returned to Shanghai and other areas of the Mainland to tour and perform with a number of different groups, including multiple performances at the Shanghai Jazz Festival. This will be her first visit to Yunnan and she is excited to finally arrive in this place that she has heard so much about over the years.
”A voice that is warm and tremendously expressive – sometimes revealing a touch of fragility – and whose emotional register ranges from delicate modesty to explosiveness, without falling for the temptation of over dramatizing. Add to this a talent for phrasing and a rhythmic emancipation that makes the music come alive in a way I have not experienced in any other Danish singer. It is equally rare to encounter a CD release containing a series of newly-written songs that are such gems.” – Boris Rabinowitsch, Politiken (Danish national newspaper)

The 80th Birthday Celebration of the Renowned Swedish Poetry Master Tomas Tranströmer
April 11, 2011 by Nina Cheng

Time: 7:30 PM, April 16, 2011, Saturday Free entrence
Tomas Tranströmer has been a master and leading the trend of poetry in recent history. Being a prolific poet, his works have been translated into over eighty languages, and been honored as the common treasure that shared by the world.
In 1999, when Anna, the founder of TCG Nordica as much as a poet herself, proposed to name after him a soon to be established cultural center located in Kunming the capital city in the China’s southwestern border, the poet happily approved. In the spring of 2001, he visited the T ’coffee, the predecessor of TCG Nordica.
We invite you to gather at TCG Nordica on April 16, and to celebrate the 80th birthday of Tomas Tranströmer, the renowned Swedish poetry master by sharing poetry.
The letters in TCG Nordica: T is the initial for the renowned Swedish poetry master Tomas Tranströmer, authorized to be used for special purpose by the poet in 1999; C is for the English word Culture; G is for the English word Galley; Nordica is the English word for the Nordic. With all of them combined, it means a cultural center bridging China and the Nordic for equal exchanges with cultures and arts being the focus points.
Just like what Li Li, a translator, said, “There are but few modern poets like the Swedish poet Tomas Tranströmer who can pen the poetry in a fashion that is so succinct, accurate, exquisite and brilliant.”
“Poetry is something from the inside. He is the good buddy of the dream. It is difficult to set apart what is intellectual and what is not from that which can not be separated from the inside. That’s what the poetry intends to get. It’s not one or the other. Generally, my works refuse to follow normal rational analysis; I want to give the readers more liberty to enjoy themselves.” As he said, you can find in his poetry the very word that touches your heart, in a way that is subtle, unaffected, metaphorical as well as imagery. With peaceful words, the inner world and intense emotions are explicitly revealed.
Perhaps you have read his poetry, or you have not. No bother. Why not come and join us on this day to reread Tomas Tranströmer. It is enough as long as you have a heart that is open and free to wander into the realm of poetry, regardless of neither your nationalities nor the dialects for the recitation.
Highlights:
Poetry readings from different languages or dialects;
Impromptu poetry composition;
Presentation of jazz piano and singings from Nordic
