Chinese ethnic music played with all the traditional Chinese
instruments. A movement that is to be performed in a solo or in an ensemble. The Erhu (two-stringed Chinese fiddle) produces a beautiful melody with a strong ethnic flavor; sorrow like a cuckoo’s crowing.; intoxication like ten thousand running horses; lyrics like pearl waters flowing. It has the capability of rich expression. The Pipa (Chinese lute) sounds like pearls dropping on a jade plate; the timber is clear and magnifying as a lens. It makes you feel the rhythm as if it’s drawing the shape of the music. The Chinese ethnic music essentially is a spiritual atmosphere, a spiritual feeling. It can fully mobilize your soul (if you really listen to the words) creating a mood or atmosphere, melting the heart. It has the most detailed and most sincere feelings. This is the music of the Chinese nation. From all over Kunming, musicians will gather on Saturday night, April 4, 2009 at 8 o’clock at TCG Nordica. The audience will enjoy a classical concert in the hinese style. The guzheng (zither),dizi (flute) ,erhu(two-stringed Chinese fiddle),pipa, Cinese flute, and yangqin(Chinese dulcimer)will delight and tantalize your feelings.
